GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare Sales up 20% for the quarter ended September 30, 2008

                                                Sales up 20% and Profits up 5%

GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare Limited (GSKCH) today declared its financial results for the quarter ended September 30, 2008. For the third quarter revenues were up by 20% at Rs. 4,22,48 lacs, PBT & PAT by 2% at Rs. 77,75 lacs and 5 % at Rs. 53,03 lacs respectively.

The Board of Directors also declared an interim dividend of Rs. 10 per equity share.

Sales of all brands continued to grow during the third quarter as well. In order to offset the impact of rise of commodity prices, the company has taken several initiatives to control costs of its products. Heavy investments behind brands, focus on innovations and investments in media are driving brand equity and franchise.
