Boost encourages sports in India with the ‘Boost Stamina Run’

Partners with ultra marathon runner Arun Bhardwaj who will be running from Kargil to Kanyakumari

Bangalore, November 21, 2012: In its endeavour to promote sports in India, choco-malt drink Boost has launched the ‘Boost Stamina Run’- a solo running odyssey by an Indian, across the length of the country. For this novel initiative, Boost has partnered with India’s only internationally renowned ultra marathoner - Arun Bhardwaj. He is running from Kargil to Kanyakumari from 1st October to 30th November 2012 covering more than 3000 kms. in 60 days! With this run, Arun will take forward Boost’s message of encouraging sports in India and inspire kids, budding athletes, parents, etc along the way.

Arun is 43 year old, currently an employee of the Planning Commission of India, and is the country’s first internationally renowned ultra marathon runner. He has been running ultra marathons for more than 12 years now. Starting his run from Kargil, Arun has crossed Leh, Sir Bhum Chun, Kullu, Chandigarh, New Delhi, Agra, Jhamsi, Sagar and has now reached Bangalore. In this long road he is scheduled to cross 10 states and 17 cities.

He is also scheduled to interact with school kids in various cities, talking to them about sports and sharing tips on staying healthy, being fit, building stamina, etc.
