GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare Ltd records high growth for Quarter 1 ended March 31, 2013

  • Sales up by 16% and Profits up by 19%

GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare Limited (GSKCH) today declared its financial results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2013. Net sales at Rs. 940 crores recorded an impressive growth of 16 % over the same period in 2012 with PBT at Rs. 228 crores growing by 16 % and PAT at Rs. 156 crores growing by 19 %.

Commenting on the results, Mr. Zubair Ahmed, MD, GSKCH said, “GSKCH has been on a high growth path and has been recording a steady double digit performance. The current quarter results have yet again been in line with our expectations. Despite slowing economic conditions, the company continues to deliver superior results owing to our focus on innovation, distribution expansion and cost control. In this quarter, Megabrand Horlicks leveraged our strong nutrition science to launch Horlicks Pro Mind, a product focused on enhancing cognition in children.”
