Hyderabad, 10 January 2018: Boost, one of GSK Consumer Healthcare’s leading brands in the Health Food Drinks category, has associated with Premier Badminton League team Hyderabad Hunters. With this association, Boost has taken its communication platform of ‘Play A Bigger Game’ to the next level with a LIVE activation that gives young kids a chance to Play The Pros @PBL 2018. As part of this activation, youngsters from across south India got an opportunity to learn, interact & rub shoulders with Olympic Gold medalist, Carolina Marin as well as other badminton aces from Hyderabad Hunters, such as Sai Praneeth & Satwik Sairaj.

As part of this activation, Boost attempted a new Guinness Record for the largest badminton lesson with a participation of more than 400 young champions at the Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy. These badminton prodigies thronged the Gopichand Badminton Academy to meet their idol and take on the world for the largest badminton lesson.

Boost has always been a brand which has engaged with kids directly & inspired them with the promise of unleashing the winner inthemselves. The brand’s association with Hyderabad Hunters is a perfect example of bringing alive this promise wherein kids from across South India were invited to participate in a contest that helped them win the opportunity to Play The Pros as part of the biggest badminton league in the country. The best performer basis the contest will also get a once in a lifetime opportunity to hone his/her skills at the Pullela Gopichand Badminton academy in Hyderabad with an exclusive one year training scholarship from Boost.

Commenting on the initiative, Vikram Bahl, Area Marketing Lead, Nutrition & Digestive health, GSK Consumer Healthcare India, said, “Stamina, energy and winning are synonymous with Boost and that’s how we have been successfully striking the chord with kids for over 40 years now. We are extremely overwhelmed with the participation that the activity witnessed and confident that with initiatives like Play the Pros will be inspiring more and more youngsters to emulate their sporting heroes”

Carolina Marin of Hyderabad Hunters, commenting on the initiative said, “I think Boost Play the Pros is a wonderful initiative and we need more such initiatives to groom the emerging badminton talent from a young age to provide them quality exposure, develop their skills and give them a chance to play against international level players. It is heartening to see that Boost is going beyond the usual by providing kids an opportunity to even train at the Pullela Gopichand’s Badminton academy for a year by sponsoring the training cost. We, Hyderabad Hunters are very happy to be associated with this initiative.”

Pullela Gopichand of Gopichand Academy where the Guiness record was attempted said, I am glad about the Guinness attempt for the Largest Badminton Lesson during the Boost Play The Pros event that was held at our academy. I would like to congratulate Boost & Hyderabad Hunters for the same. Events like these help to create more excitement around the sport, help the kids learn badminton from the best and provide them the platform to test their skills against the best, some of whom are top international and national players. I hope we have more of these events to make badminton a bigger sport in the country and to identify and groom young emerging talent.
