Amit joined GSK Consumer in September 2010, as Marketing Director for the US Smoking Control business. Under his leadership, the business started to grow again through focus on driving category penetration and increasing access at retail, both of which had been stagnating for several years. Subsequently, Amit led the commercial management of the US Prism brands portfolio through the Blueprint led divestiture.
In his previous role for last 4 years, Amit was the General Manager in Turkey where the GSK Consumer business grew five-fold in 4 years. During this period, he led successful integration of a unique portfolio with all seven priority brands.
Prior to GSK, Amit has worked at Novartis Consumer Health and P&G. At Novartis, Amit held several roles of increasing responsibility including Marketing Director for Russia and later as Regional Marketing head for Sub-Saharan Africa. At P&G, Amit also held various positions based in US, Singapore and India across marketing, supply chain and field sales.
Amit has a personal passion for emerging markets and helping increase middle income households access to high quality products. In his personal time, Amit teaches chess to young kids and also strives to improve his handicap. Amit is curious about different cultures, open to entrepreneurial solutions and always willing to work on the toughest challenges.
He has moved to his current role from December 2016.
