GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare Ltd records high growth for the quarter ended December 31, 2011
Sales up by 19% and Profits up by 22%
Board recommends a total Dividend of 350%
GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare Limited (GSKCH) today declared its financial results for the year ended December 31, 2011. Net sales at Rs 2686 crores recorded a growth of 16% over 2010 with PAT at Rs. 355 crores growing by 18% for the same period and PBT at Rs 540 crores growing by 20%. For the Q4 2011, net sales recorded were Rs. 602 crores, recording a growth of 19% with profits of Rs 97 crores (before tax) recording a growth of 22%and Rs 59 crores (after tax).
The Board of Directors of the Company also recommended a Dividend at the rate of Rs. 35 per equity share of Rs. 10 each for the year ended December 31, 2011.
Commenting on the results, Mr. Zubair Ahmed, MD, GSKCH said, “It is gratifying to note that, quarter after quarter GSK is able to record strong topline growth by leveraging science and innovation. Further ‘insight’ based communication coupled with increased penetration across categories helped the company to record strong growth across brands. Despite high inflation in commodities, cost engineering program helped the company deliver superior results.
GSKCH has been on a fast track growth for the past few years and the momentum for top-line growth has continued in 2011 with GSKCH performing exceedingly well in the last quarter of the year with robust sales and profit growth.
