GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare Ltd records high growth for the year ended December 31, 2012

  • Sales rise by 15% and Profits up by 20%
  • Recommend a total Dividend of Rs. 45 per equity share of Rs. 10 each


GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare Limited (GSKCH) today declared its financial results for the year ended December 31, 2012. Net sales at Rs 3,079 crores recorded a growth of 15% over 2011 with PAT at Rs. 437 crores growing by 23% for the same period and PBT at Rs 649 crores growing by 20%. For the Q4 2012, net sales recorded were Rs. 709 crores with profits of Rs 103 crores (before tax) and Rs 70 crores (after tax).

The Board of Directors of the Company also recommended a Dividend at the rate of Rs. 45 per equity share of Rs. 10 each for the year ended December 31, 2012.

Commenting on the results, Mr. Zubair Ahmed, MD, GSKCH said, “GSKCH has been recording robust growth year-on-year across the portfolio. By leveraging our equity in marketing and sales, the company has been recording double digit revenue growths. The last quarter, too has fared well. Science based innovation coupled with communication developed through consumer insights have significantly contributed to the company’s growth. The company has been able to deliver progressive results due to cost effective solutions and intensive penetration drives across rural and north & west markets.”
