Skill development for food safety
Food Safety is a major global concern amongst consumers. Poor Personal Hygiene, Sanitation and Cleanliness resulting in Unsafe Food and Water are some the major causes of foodborne diseases
At GSKCH we understand the importance of food safety, we have partnered with CII Foundation (CII-F) to support Surakshit Khadya Abhiyan (SKA), a program focussed on engaging all stakeholders to catalyse sensitization and capacity building on food safety, ensure safe food of global standards and boost domestic trade and export.
SKA aims to raise awareness of Micro, Small and Medium Food Business Operators (FBOs) on preventive measures to ensure Safe Food for All.
CII-F is a Trust, set up by the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII). CII-F is employing Food Safety and Standards Authority of India’s (FSSAI) Food Safety Training and Certification (FOSTAC) curriculum to train the FBOs.
Each FBO needs to have minimum one (1) certified person in their premises to ensure food safety. It is expected that this would be made mandatory soon. FoSTaC offers nine different types of courses meant for different types of food business on different competency level.
We are supporting CII-F to reach out to more than 1500 FBOs through 70+ training sessions organized in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Karnataka and Maharashtra
